i have all six leads coming out of my alt--in star it loads up the alt bad--fighting all that wire--prop slows way down......

when wired in jerry delta--prop spins a lot faster and almost three times the amps..

sure it dosent have the high volts as in star [drill test]..

but being that it spins over easyer when wired in jerry delta i reach cut in speed in a lower wind then when wired in star..just my real life tests..

--the alt is a 9 and 12 setup--120 winding per coil--neo and ceramic powered..

thats a test i did in the spring--i rebuilt the mill sence then--smaller and stronger.

and just a comment on star--on my little mill [8" rotors] i need all the amps i can get

so thats why i wired in jerry delta plus i needed a lot of winds per coil for volts..

of course on the bigger mills i could see star working fine--they don"t need a whole lot of winds per coil--therefore they don't have a whole lot of wire to fight..

just my way of thought...i just finished a smaller mill a while back-8and6-7.1/4" rotors.. saw blades-90 turns per coil-#17 wire-cut in speed is a bit high -but it still works great-no furl -small blades-and that is wired in star for volts-needed star because of the high cut in speed..

to make a machine pedalpower direct drive where

about 90 rpm would be enough to charge a battery

hey norm..

 sence the angle is in the hub--i took a wood rasp to the front of the blades[less then 3/4 of the way up on the blade] on the leading edge- to slowly flaten out to the end of the blades..and of course i had to make a bunch of stop cuts on the back side to make the airfoil..saved a lot of work by having the angle in the hub....don't ask me the tsr.  im not into numbers..just carve out what looks like a good blade--then balance everything out--and let er fly.....

  Wood rasp huh? Yep they can really chew up some wood

alright...I like to use a wood plane pulling toward you like a draw knife as long as you don't

go against the grain...

  I was thinking that maybe someday I could

make something like yours on a smaller scale

that would work on a couple of those little

stepper motors that Ghurd gave me he says that

pvc blades will work in those 5mph breezes we

have here in NE Ohio but I think wood will

work better in my opinion plastic blades really

spin fast until you put a load on them...

then they seem to just fizzle out...

got a schematic of the jerry/delta that ya can post...i seem to have mislaid mine 'mongst all the junk in my  lil workshop (memory seems to serve me poorly 'cause i don't seem to see the results i should be getting with it)

iwould like to include a series of experiments with it as part of my stator-x project
