It looks like it's made of aluminum, which would make it difficult to weld anything else onto it.  Also, most genny mounts don't need to be offset forward, just sideward.  Besides, if you just go and buy one outright, think of the fun scrounging around you'll be missing ;^)

they say acording to the manufacturer its made of steel
