Vacuformed hub
« on: November 19, 2006, 04:52:21 AM »
First the pics.....

So these were shaped with 4 blocks of wood and

the hot air gun but the future ones will be

vacuformed.

Some stranded tape around the edges ...then

some resin ....two of these will hold the spokes

for the hulahoop multi-bladed HAWT.

This is the first part of three parts.

Very imaginative Norm and a good use for all those AOL and People PC discs I still get, not to mention the occasional "coasters" I burn.

Wonder how a vacuformed disc would work over a

small stator about that size?

Seems like a lot of work!

But it looks like it would protect it.

Maybe it would get too hot for the wire?

Vacuformed small blades?

  Yeah...that would work....Now that I got onto

this I can think of all kind of applications,

using 2 liter pop bottle plastic to vacuform

stiffing ridges and making small blades like in

Lenz turbine....?
