my batteries are working now
« on: November 23, 2006, 11:26:36 PM »
AbyssUnderground you were right !

i used 12V dc wallwort , with an open circuit voltage of 16.5V ( not very well regulated)

at first they were only taking in 10mA

after a day on charge , they were taking in 50mA

after two days they were up to 300mA

after four days they were taking in 450mA

during the rejuvinating process the battery voltage dropped from 16.5 to a respectable 13.8 during charging.

they have been disconnected for a day now and the voltage is 12.25

just thought i would pass this on..

Willib have those batteries been on trickle since that first post about them or have you done other things such as using some of the power off of them then put them back on trickle?

I found some PowerSafe 6vj9 this summer and have been trying to bring them back.  Mostly they stay on the SunGuard and are brought up to PWM everyday but I do try and exercise them every once in awhile.

I'd toss 'em.

If, after charging for four days, and then a rest period, and the open circuit voltage is only 12.25V, there's not much there. Should be 12.7-12.9V.
