wind
« on: November 26, 2006, 12:57:53 AM »

The Weatherperson was dead wrong today, and yesterday, and the day

before.  So, no new tests.  But, I did make about 500 Watts, for most of

the three days, with the old P.M, and the same 5 foot blades.

Biggest worry is the tower,  as it is sadly underrated for the winds.

Has a bend at the 10 foot mark, and scares me a bit. The ten foot mark

is where the final attachment to the shop is at.  (on the roof)   New

tower is planned, but not built, yet.  This Winter is supposted to be

long, by the same weatherperson, so might go up in the spring.  No,

it will go up in the spring.

The bend, BTW, is what I am sure caused all my cable twisting.  Thanks to Ghurd, as it would have taken me far too long to figure that

out.  Again thank's to Ghurd, I started to count the number of turns,

and wher the winds came from.  So, I am hopefully a bit wiser.

     bj.

Glad it helped.

May try to stiffen up the yaw bearing a bit?

Did Ghurd, just by fitting the Teflon to a much closer tolerance.

Like Teflon.  Anyway fit it to a light clearance.  5 pound hammer to

install.  Was worried, but when in could turn easily, with reisitance,

with one hand.

Am looking at bearings, with a big neo providing (hyperstallic resistance?  (term maybe out to lunch.  Late)

    Thanks for everything Ghurd:
