Wind!
« on: May 06, 2007, 05:48:20 PM »
Winds here last night were steady at 40mph with gusts over 70. All spring has been extremely windy with the last 3 weeks almost constant 20-35mph winds. Minor damage to the house, rain gutters were tore off on the south side. It tried to push my 200 pound gas grill off the deck, and it flipped a small utility trailer.

Now (sunday noon) we are seeing sustained 25-30mph winds with gusts to 60; scattered power outages throughout the Twin-Cities. I've seen similar winds here in winter force door & window seals to vibrate like harmonicas but warm air winds w/o leaves on trees simply rocks the whole house! I am at base of 110' bluff that forces winter winds from the north and west over top the house making winters alot more bearable (but eliminates wind power at this household) but todays winds from due south makes me wish I had at least lawn-art turbine out....
