RE haircut tonight!
« on: September 06, 2007, 12:59:45 AM »
My wife actually (theres a thought!) thought of me and purchased a ConAir Hair Trimmer from Avon, runs on (2) AA batteries.  Meant for trimming nose and beard hair, I thought, hey, I'll give it a shot. (1" width clippers).

I haven't had a pro haircut now in about 15+ years, I use clippers, it always grows back!

At anyrate, 2 1000mah AA NiCD's for the initial phase, followed up by 2 more 1000mah AA NiCD's for above my ears and neck (my wife has to manage that part), all batteries ended at 1.27v to 1.29v, hair is nicely (albeit shortly) cut for at least another 2 months.

My other clippers consumed aprox 1 amp through 12vdc to 120vac inverter.

Maybe not a big deal to some, but my ole man pays $11 a cut and he has no hair!

Best,

Tim

When I was 8, I tried to cut a nail with my Dad's

hand-powered hair clippers ...didn't work the first time

broke a tooth off...tried again...still didn't

work ....Dad still used them...on me worked fine

except for trimming above the ears...a quick flip

to flip the hair off and yow!   "Oh pull a little, did it", he would snicker and snort!

For 10 more years he cut my hair and every once in awhile he would forget?? and give the clippers

a little flick and we would both grin....

Always use the right tool for the job.

Barbers probably wonder why I give a little

wince when they give that little flick of the

wrist when trimming above my ears.....

I did not exactly catch the RE part. I guess your going to recharge the batteries with solar or wind power though right :)

"Solar Clips and Cuts" or "Styled by the Wind" perhaps "Natures own Cuts" some good slogans for RE Barbers

Ya, it costs me $12 and up for a haircut and beard trim once a year. I think he charges me by the pound LOL
