The Joys of Government

Looks like if you live in that large left coast state the government wants to set your thermostat for you.

B. Emergency Events. Upon receiving an emergency signal, the PCT shall respond to commands contained in the emergency signal, including changing the setpoint by any number of degrees or to a specific temperature setpoint. The PCT shall not allow customer changes to thermostat settings during emergency events.

Wonder if it applies to larger homes .....

I burn corn or wood pellets, no way to control that :-) A/C is only needed here about 2-3 weeks a summer so thats not a big issue.

A little tinfoil around the receiver should fix that issue.  Really if the government wants to limit electric use then it should raise the prices to the point that people will stop using it.  supply and demand works fine if allowed to work.
