Another sweet deal
« on: February 28, 2008, 09:15:40 PM »
I just made a trade for a nice little two cylinder Onan diesel engine. Couldn't fingmy geezer glasses so I am not sure of the HP and all that. I figure about 16 or so. Got it to the house and it started and ran like a big dog. Starter seemed to bog down/drag a little bit. No big deal on that though. Just bushings.

Don't even know what I am going to do with it yet. Maybe build a genset out of it. Should make a good one.

I have an Onan genset that I found in the bushes but the head has been off the engine for years but the gen might be good. This is an older 4 cylindar I did get it to turn over last year but it is junk.  I was going to scrap it out for the copper. I'm not up there but will be in March 22. I'll look at the model munbers on the gen portion. Where are you?  I'm in Montana, USA Just an idea of maybe.

Central Kansas. About thirty miles South of Fort Riley.

I'll put my geezer glasses on and try to see the model numbers. It is two cylinders and air-cooled. About twelve horses. No alternator on it though.

Might all be a real good idea.
