I've been looking for some analog meters for my two systems for quite a while.
Since there are two systems to outfit and my philosophy is ' if it's free energy lets try to get it free ' (or as cheaply as possible) I do a lot of scrounging around.
I went to a HAM festival / swap meet over the weekend and one fellow had a $3 bin full of old meters.

Top left was $1 and it takes a 2k2 resistor for 15V full deflection - perfect!
Middle top was $2 and all it took was a bit of silicon to glue the glass back in.
The rest were $3 apiece.
Two Tripletts, one Westinghouse, one Barnett and two No names.
I'm so happy!
