Thanks KurtJ.
Many people seem to like the PMAs I make with the speaker baskets.
I would like to make a sugjestion.
My wife and I own and operate a retail car stereo store. I've been doing this since the 70s.
I sugjest that many of you could aproach your local car stereo shops and ask if they might have any old no value cast basket subs that have no other value then a door stop.
A woofer thats out of warranty and is only in there way and gathering dust. A dead unit customers just left behind when a new unit was installed in there enclosure.
Show them a picture or 2 of mine and explain how you can help make the earth a much better place by turning it into wind generator as aposed to just ending up in the landfill.
Maybe have the manager call you if something comes in or stop in once a week. Belive me most shops get a few door stops every mounth.
Maybe offer the installer $5 if the basket meets your needs. You can use just 1 but 2 is a littel stronger.
They don't have to match. just the size needs to be the same not the brand or style.
There are sutle size diferances so hold basket to basket to see if they match.
They a very nice base from witch to biuld a pma.
I'd like to see other people using them to. The magnet end caps make nice blade supports or small magnet discs. Or shaft adaptors for larger discs. I've taken some 11" discs off some large heavy subs.
The magnets are fun also. Cut the magnets into pye sections for your own 14-11 ceramic with a wet tile saw?
Lots of free fun.
