Does it matter what wire you use, start to start or the start wire to the end wire when you are hooking up your 3 coils?
Thanks Brian

you don't give us much to go on brian.
is it a three phase alternator ?
perhaps a nine coil /12pole design?
if so , the wire in the coils of each phase are run in series.
end to start, then, end to start, so to speak
