In segment 3 I'd have also tilted the miter saw. That would have done most of the hub shaping and minimized sanding there to make a symmetrical and clean hub. ("Hour of sanding" says something was wrong with the initial cut(s).) Also would have used a stop to do the lineup on the miter saw identically on all four cuts.
Could rough in an airfoil by doing the two cuts at different angles (so the training edge was nearly sharp - though still leaving enough for a guide) and then sanding the hump and leading edge round and the trailing edge closer to sharp. Also putting a knife edge on the outer end (to throw the tip vortex out and "virtually lengthen" the blade) and sanding the leading tip spherical and flowing into the knife edge. Of course all this gets done BEFORE the balance step.
I've thought about doing taper in a similar situation by doing an initial "point the trailing edge" cut then a second pass with a cam guide on the top of the board, working against a post while the broadly-pointed trailing edge works against the fence (or a low extension of it), to do twist. But haven't done all the geometry to see if this works out.
