I need a high temperature tape that can be used to seal around stove pipe. I've been needing some for years but it only occured to me to try a search last night. I didn't really turn up anything that was immediately available as a retail purchase, just OEM marketed stuff. The limit seems to be 500°F continuous. So I have a few questions:
How hot does stove pipe typically get? Or, how high of a temperature rating do I need? 500° doesn't seem that high.
Has anyone found anything that worked for them?
It seems that at the very least I should be able to find some fiberglass cloth and some type of refractory paste to hold it on there.
