thankyou All, very much, for all the input. I was never approached by a salesman, I just thought I could save a couple of bucks. I drive past a gas station every morning that sells propane, at $1.90 a gallon, so I'm staying put.
One member mentioned natural gas is lighter than air, which I know to be wrong. I remember in grade school they taught us that natural gas is odorless, that they put in a 'scent' for safety. As a teenager I disconnected the gas clothes dryer and thought I was going to fill a few trash liner bags with natural gas and make some 'balloons' Natural gas is Quite a bit heavier than air, as those things 'dropped like a rock'
To the one(s) who laid the 'btu's/therms/cost numbers on me: Thanks, that's what I was looking for.
I really enjoy this site, thankyou all for making it what it is. dudevato
