TROUBLE STARTING A FIRE IN OUR WOOD BURNING STOVE

It worked great last year but now all we get is smoke in the stove and the house.  The fire box smolders and gets hot, the smoke stack smokes, but no fire will start.  If anyone has any advice or has had similar problems, HELP!!!!
