bore and tidal river and Questions??
« on: October 23, 2004, 11:25:23 PM »
Hi

Getting started.

I have a bore 12 to 15 feet to the water about thirty feet deep.

Theres a river but it is tidal.

Is there something that fits this problem to make power?

Is there away of drawing the bore water up to run a turbine?

Or will I stick with the wind and solar set up if it can make enough power?

Interesting idea for dump load to pump water during off peek times to a cistern

until you have enough to run a water turbine.

I'm not sure where the bore comes into play here, is it a borehole you are referring to? If so, do the tidal movements change the level of water in the bore?

The tidal flow of the river may have some possibilities for a low head hydro provided you could place a dam or diversion in it.

You may want to post some more detailed information to get better input.

It is a borehole and no the tidal movement make's no diff... to it as it is over two hundred feet from the river.

I am right near the mouth of the river so slit and weed would all play apart in problems of getting water to run.

Even a pipe line keeping it free of crabs snails and so on .

The river is over 400ft wide at full tide and splits into two at low.

I will shot some levels at some time just to see the fall over 100 yards or less.

I am starting to lean to wind unless someone can turn the tide so to speak.

How big of cistern or tank would I need ?

until I have enough to run a water turbine.
