Hey. I am designing an undershot water wheel. I am wondering if any one has any information about the design of the blades and if any one has any idea of how to calculate stresses in the blades and wheel

gwdonovan, I was testing a wheel on my hydro project last year. I call it my canoe wheel.

The problem was the aluminum could not take the stress and cracks started forming in the fins. It ran for six months, also the ice build up did not help either.
