Thanks to all who responded. The idea I have is to make or get a tower about 20'- 30' tall. Fan size I will have to work on. And use the old pump jack pole which gos up and down to turn a fly wheel attached to a genorator mounted on the base ( easier to get to ) . Yes I too usally only see mild wind speeds which leads me to ask -wouldnt a larger blade area need less wind to turn (weight aside )? Equalling more opportunity to make power?
