LED Lighting Help Please
« on: March 23, 2008, 04:41:39 PM »
I want to build a lighting system, which will be used to illuminate the face of a mixing board. The mixer is 31" x 16" and I would like the entire surface to be illuminated.

I have never worked with LED's before, but have experience in electronic building (tube amplifiers). The lighting system could encompass 2 short and 1 long side if necessary.

The board has a 12V BNC connector and is generally used to power a 5W, 380 MA halogen lamp.

How many LED's can I safely use? Can I build a circuit board, wire the lamps in parallel, and use the boards power supply? What Lamps would be best to use, and where is the best place to buy them at.

I stumbled upon this site researching LED's and think it is fantastic !!

Thank you for any help you can give me with the design of this project.
