10' Wind Turbine Concepts [CLOSED]
« on: February 10, 2009, 02:35:38 PM »
I've just started discovering the wonderful possibilities of wind power and am planning a project for this summer.  I'm still very much new to all the electrical concepts, but I was wondering if anyone had ever attempted the following ideas based on the 10' wind turbine...

Certainly I would think longer propeller blades would be in order for the added resistance, but otherwise, is this a workable concept?  Could one magnet rotor be used in the middle instead of the two?

Right after I drew this I realized I made it with only two "blades" instead of three, but otherwise, would the five-gallon bucket halves be enough to drive the alternator?  How would the start up speed be affected?

Thank you all for your time!

These have both been discussed multiple times, try searching and posting questions on what you find and do not understand. [CLOSED]
