Something seems to be wrong
« on: February 14, 2007, 02:53:39 AM »
so I was improving on my windmill which can be found here http://www.fieldlines.com/story/2006/12/9/213628/126 by making a smaller stator and a thicker magnet rotor which imediatly showed great improvements! I was easily getting up to charging voltage by hand whereas before I could never get it past 8 volts no matter how fast I turned it. However, I gave the magnet rotor a coat of paint and now I can't get more than 9 volts from it. What happened? I did nothing more than paint the magnets. Help please!

Never you mind kids, I figured it out. Such a stupid mistake that I'm not even going to say it here. That's what I get for freaking out.

mettleramiel;

Haha, well, welcome to the club. I suspect we all have these experiences. Most simply won't admit it.

As the sign in the test and repair line at one of my techie jobs said:

"No problem is too big to be overlooked"

Plus it is pretty easy to either make the same mistake repeatedly or miss the obvious several times.

Anyway, if you learned from it I say all is good.

Cheers.
