Best Inverter brands for continuous use?
« on: February 19, 2007, 09:12:55 PM »
I have been using Inverters as part of alternative energy systems for many years, they always seem to be the weakest most unreliable part of the system.

From research I've found out that 95% of all inverters in the world are made in one factory in Taiwan under 100's of different brand names, all of them in my opinion are crap, designed for occasional holiday use not the continuous use of real life.

2 independent brands that seem to have a good reputation for reliability are:

Xantrex (formerly Trace) and Alessi-Serie,

My question is are there any others?

Thanks,

Zero.

Zero;

I have an Outback Power Systems inverter thats been in continuous operation for probably 6 months now. Got it after wasting money on cheap ones twice. It is a nice, solid unit.

As an aside. I wish the ADMIN would add a "products" section so these questions about products can be centralized.

Cheers.
