help with a stepper motor needed
« on: August 02, 2007, 10:54:59 AM »
i recently bought a small stepper motor with 9 wires. (foolish, maybe)i ohm tested them, all of which in amy combination give a reading of 87 ohm except any wire and white together which is 44 ohm. most of the label is shot though i can make out. its made by oriental motors 12v, A/pha 3, ?.2A

I guess its an old motor. most documentation on oriental motors web site state for their new 5 phase motors, live out puts are red, blue, black, orange and green. if that the case here what do i do with the other 4 wires?

If any one has any ideas i would greatly appreciate some thoughts on my first stumbling block!

one terminal common to all windings, it is most likely a variable reluctance stepping motor.

I've not had luck with any with that wires, yet.
