question before buying magnet wire

hi folks,

    i got a 15 amp furling point on my turbine with 2 in hand awg 18 44 turns.(thanks flux) question is would i have a higher amp rating if i used awg 15 single strand 44 turns.

    reading alot learning a lot.

single #15 is the same cross sectional area as 2 in hand #18.


In terms of output there should be no difference. Probably in real life the single #15 will take up more winding space and the thicker lead out wire will also waste more space so you probably loose by using the single #15.
