Batteries Arrived
« on: November 28, 2007, 07:03:30 PM »
After a  couple of months my contact finally came through with my free batteries.  I know these are not the best for renewable energy but the price was right.  I have six batteries from the same battery bank.  There are 3 Lucent technologies 12 volt 125 ah and 3 Tyco 12 volt 150 ah batteries.  They weigh 100lbs each. The label states they are Valve regulated lead acid batteries.  Being new to this, I am unsure if these are gel filled, AGM,telephone cells or just sealed batteries. I have attached pictures, sorry the label came out blurry.  What kind of batteries are these, are they safe to put in the basement if I vent to the outside?

Thanks,

Otto

These are a sort of telephone cell.  At my new place of employment (manufacturer and tester of cell phone/cell tower equipment), we have several labs full of these exact units.  I can't wait until the bosses decide to retire some of them :)
