I have Hit A Snag Building My Coil Winder
« on: July 18, 2008, 02:29:13 AM »
Where can I find the drawing of the hole pattern/slot pattern for the wooden disks listed on page 5 of 14 of the coil winder instructions?

Also on page 6 of 14it tells me to "cut a piece of 3/8" plywood rectangular as shown above".

The picture is there then it tells me "It's 1.5" tall and ?? wide". I think that is 1", but I do not know.

If some one can tell me at what diameter is and what the dimensions are off of the center line at that diameter is I will be able to drill the holes for the pins to wind the coils on.

Thanks,

Harlon

Let me try this another way, I may have not been clear in my discription.

Good Morning,

I was trying to build my coil winder and I find that I have a problem with the Coil winder instructions. I get Question Marks instead of inch marks and question marks where there should be a dimension, and the like.

Where can I find the drawing of the hole pattern/slot pattern for the wooden disks listed on page 5 of 14 of the coil winder instructions? The pattern is not there.

Also on page 6 of 14 it tells me to "cut a piece of 3/8" plywood rectangular as shown above".

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Harlon

the ?? is the width of the maginets that you are using. the hole size in the coil should be the same or slightly smaller than the magmet. pepa

Harlon;

It is always a good idea to include a link to any page you reference with questions on its content.

Many may be willing and able to help but if they have to hunt down a page by simply a description they will help someone else who made it easy.

Most of us do not keep a cross referenced inventory of the 6 million pages here. I know its not that many but its a lot of pages!

It is probably a browser issue and would be easy to give you the info if we had the link for the page.

Also, many of the old "fixed" pages are ancient methods that have been improved on so be sure you are following recent developments on current pages.

We seriously need to overhaul those static pages from deep in the beginning of experimentation that mislead folks into thinking a page from, say, 2001 is current practice. I wonder who is wearing the Admin hat these days?

Just a thought or 5.

I think Harlon was referring to the Homebrew 10' WindTurbine

instructions.

The coil winder page is here

http://otherpower.com/coilwinder.html

I tried it with FireFox and with Internet Explorer and it

comes up the same. Seems to be a problem translating from the

word processor that the Dan's used.

Since Harlon says he now has the proper stuff, perhaps he'll post

it here so others can benefit.

Ralph;

A perfect example of a page that seriously needs someones attention here on otherpower.com. Who that someone is, I have no clue beyond "not me". Apparently nobody has the duty to maintain those fixed pages to ensure they are correct and current.

Too bad because 5 minutes of upkeep by the responsible party would have saved several folks a good bit more time.

Just how it is here, I guess.
