10' generator weight
« on: September 29, 2008, 03:04:11 PM »
Unless I have missed something along the way -- if one were to build the 10' generator shown on the otherpower.com site -- what would the approximate weight be?

I have a steel tubing tv antenna tower that I would like to use. It is 40' tall and I have access to two additional 10' sections. Just want to make sure I have enough strength built in.

Thanks.

From the PDF file on the 10' otherpower turbine manual.

The minimum tower pipe size for this turbine is 2 1/2" schedule 40.

Weight of the turbine is less of an issue than wind loading of a 10 foot blade set in high winds.
