Quick question since things seem to not be working out as planned with the Xantrex C60 running as a diversion load.
I have the wind turbine connected to the turbines controller, then to the battery bank. The C60 is connected to the battery bank as instructed by Xantrex support.
EQ/LVR - set to manual
MODE - Should this jumper be set to CHARGE CONTROL (I am thinking CHARGE) or to LOAD CONTROL.
VOLTAGE is pretty straight forward.
With the BULK and FLOAT setting potentiometer settings I am lost. I have had the batteries hit 15.9v (seemed a little too high) recently with the dump load on the turbine controller going strong. Now do I need to set the BULK to 14.8 and the FLOAT to 13.5 as stated in the manual, or do I need to play a little to compensate for the Whisper 100 controller settings.
I have the LCD on the Whisper Charge Controller that offers the ability to adjust the voltage as well.
Just really do not want to toast my batteries, but wish to get as much as I can out of all the control options I currently have. Currently we are in fall on the Atlanic, and that means steady winds daily over 25mph. We do not live at the location where the off grid set up is located, and will be running the diversion to run the infloor heating system once the bank is fully charged.
Any help or advice would be great.
