How to measure Current
« on: February 04, 2009, 11:54:30 PM »
Hi,  if I have 12 VDC coming out of my alternator, and hook up a load, say a resistor in series, do i connect my multimeter in series to get accurate dc current?

I will to post a schematic of it.  Sounds pretty amateurish I know.  Pardon me.

Cheers

Of course only AC comes out of an Alternator.(unless there is a rectifier inside it) We presume you have the AC hooked to a bridge rectifier to change to DC.

ejl7007, a bitmap is not an acceptable image format for display here as they are just way to large file size wise to ever meet the image posting rules for this board.

therefor i had no choice but to delete your comment with the oversize image in it.

from now on please convert your drawings to .gif or .png those are much smaller formats if you are using MS paint to make your drawings it can save as both .gif and .png very easily.

the image posting rules for this board are that images have to be less than 150 KB and less than 640 x 480 pixels
