Model: EA-3010 to get me in the ballpark for checking windspeed?

Hi, I have exactly that anemometer. Works ok, but of course you need to keep it directly facing the wind or else it will give you false results. I would rather get a cup type anemometer if I was shopping for one now.

I'm not familiar with that model, but about LaCrosse, I have a weather station, and I am thinking about replacing it with a rock on a string. I get 50MPH winds, and 40" of  rain a day, well that is what it tells me, I have read a lot of bad stuff about them, It's true! I would be much happier with a rock, nothing but problems from day one.  They take 6+ weeks to respond to anything (except sales)! I have had one response from them in 5+ months and it was a request for more info, they never answer there phone!  The company I useless! If you don't believe me just call there Tech line and listen to the stick!
