Our final total today was 44 inches of snow in the last 24 hours. A bit less than the blizzard of 2003, but when the snow gets this deep half a foot difference is moot!

DanB and his vintage Ford did a darn fine job busting out today--he got 1/4 mile to the county road and back, and even got 1/2 mile down the county road to bum some gas from a neighbor. The county snowplows never got all the way up here, they gave up 4 miles down the canyon because the snow was too deep!
This was our front page picture for awhile after the 2003 blizzard, that's Kodiak during that big storm. All our local dogs (and their human bosses) had this same problem early this morning.....
