HEY OUTBACK

Outback,

I liked your diary on diodes.  Those kind of tutorial and information are great for all of us.  There is a lot of information in the web site, but it is a lot to go through and it helps when some of it is put together.

However......I have a little criticizm!  I think part of your information is incorrect in the first paragraph.  The arrow on the schematic symbol for a rectifyer diode points in the opposite direction of current flow.  The end or point with the line across is the Cathode (Negative) and the other side is the Anode (Positive).  On a Zener diode which is used as a voltage regulator, the arrow points the opposite direction with the arrow showing direction of current flow and the line at the end has little wings on it.  On the schematic symbol for an LED, the arrow shows the direction of current flow, and there is a circle around the symbol with two little arrows pointing out.

Not trying to give you a hard time, just trying to keep the information correct for everyone else!
