My thought on this is if you could capture several lighting bolts and divert them through some sort of thick rod in a tank filled with water. The heat created by the lightning in the rod in the water would bring it to the boiling point and then you could use the steam to generate electricy. I'm asuming there are are a large amount of concerns with attempting something like this. Such as how you would isulate everything so the electricy would go where you want it and not just disipate into the water or worse, your generator.
Just an idea i've been kicking around.
