Writing a web page, need opinions
« on: December 06, 2004, 08:53:27 PM »
I know this is a little off topic, but it's very important to me..

I'm writing a web page. I am wondering if everyone can see this menu and the page. It is green with white writing as primary, The buttons are orange, green and blue. Writing  is black and white.

I want to know what you think of the color scheme. Would like a rating from you of 1-10 on color and style. THANKS IN ADVANCE!!

Thanks again!

Hi Fred,

Looks pretty professional I would say. Simple like that is good, I've noticed a real trend away from those late- 1990 webs with the all black backgrounds and stuff like that.

Doing a web page looks like a good way to stay inside out of this Ontario snow....

Have a look at this site

http://www.csszengarden.com/

Its uses a standard web page but with different style sheets applied to completely change the look and feel of the page. Members submit their own style sheets. Some look pretty good, some are crap. Its a good source for idea's and themes, I used it to help with my own web site - http://www.thebackshed.com

The hardest part is getting a layout and colours that make the page easy to read and navigate. Gentle colours and textures, nothing too harsh. Try to get the visitor to focus on the content and not the colour.

Hi iFred,

Nice one...

looks simple and clean :)

Simple, easy layout, and the colours work out right

(google... 'color matching', or, 'colour schemes' for matching colours)

To get more subtle about the colours, check out 'color psychology' on google for 'the meaning' of color to different societies

iFred, My personal opinion the green is too bright and distracting I'd opt for a lighter shade and maybe a real dark green text...I'd invite you over to

....but it's a mess right now...just learning how to publish without Trelix holding my hand..

the main thing I'm havin' a lot of fun...

later....( :>) Norm.

Looks good to me.

I like the light background.

The bright green is not distracting to me, because it is used in small places. Lets me quickly know the navagation buttons.

Every monitor will show the colors a little different.
