Scrounging Magnets
« on: March 05, 2005, 12:27:44 AM »
For anyone trying to find ferrite magnets for a test bench or prototype, at Wal-Mart in the aquarium section they have an "Aqua-Tech Magnetic Algae Remover" ($4.88US in Pompano Beach, Florida).  Inside the plastic holders are two (2) 1" x 2-1/4" x 3/8" ferrite magnets which are of fairly good strength.  Maybe a local source for some of you.

Scrounging, in my view, means finding what you can, where you can.  Even if it means cannabalizing another device you bought for what you need.  Just my opinion.

Sometimes it might, but most often it means recycling old junk into a new life as something else or getting used parts to fix something. Scrounging is not often a term used for buying new things to strip down, unless maybe it's scrounging for discontinued stuff or through old stock found in a warehouse and such.

Geuss it could mean alot of things, just depends. Mostly to me it means a trip to a salvage yard :)

Or an old dump if I find one I can dig through :)

Hmm, that last one almost applies to my front yard!
