Hugh Piggot Plans and couple of other books from otherpower.com, although I didn't order them soon enough for them to be here for christmas...

Not to forget also a 14'' MasterCraft Metal Cut-off saw, ColdHeat (soldering gun) and a new desk...

advised...

My best goodie was an E-mail :)

I got my pricing for the #29 curved magnets we all want for motor conversions :)

Plus some other odd magnets I need that are not commonly available.

I ok'ed the drawings a few days earlier.

I had more than two hundred 2 1/4" x 2 1/6" x 1/3" Neos turn up the day before Christmas! That is a lot of magnet... About 65lb in all. Due to no small effort on the part of Mike (anchor1) I have been able to obtain these to replace the now seemingly insignificant microwave mags that I was planning to use on a 20" radial flux 10kW alt for a 7.5m turbine. I'll post in my diary soon regarding my plans. Thanks for your effort Mike!

hello,

I got my son home from Kuwait for Christmass, that was all I wanted. The best part is that there were'nt any missing pieces, even his slightly warped mind is still all there. He was all wrapped in desert gear when we picked him up, we quickly unwrapped him and gave him a down parka, long johns and snow boots. (great big smile). Thanks to everyone here who helped keep my mind busy learnig new RE stuff. Now I can think about some of my RE projects a little more since I have a load off my mind.

                                        Mike

I got $50 in Home Depot gift certificates to start replacing all of these Sylvania globe style CFL's that are failing. This time I'll spend a few dollars more and get the Phillips brand globe style CFL's that work. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all. Erich

I got a laser level/stud finder thing a ma jig too.  A Black and Decker.  I also got a digital camera to replace my last one that grew legs, so I can post photos again.  Lots of other odds and ends.  Now all I need is more time.  Still have this 'work' thing that gets in the way of all my projects.  Rich Hagen

I got a digital camera and lots of clothes but the best part was I got to help my grandpa move out of his house that he's lived in since the war ended.  Lots of stuff he won't be taking so I took some of it.

So far I've collected

about 100 lbs of copper pipe -to be recycled

about 30 lbs of aluminum scrap - hopefully to be melted in a forge

two icecream buckets full of bearings. 2" to 5" outside diameters, I haven't dug through enough to figure out what all is in there.

a push lawn mower

a second gas mower that will have to be turned into something else.  Not sure what yet though

a bunch of shovels, rakes, sledge hammers, wood mauls,...

two nice hand saws that are actually still sharp.

some attic vents for my shop

a bunch of 4" pvc fittings

some plexiglass

and of course more nails/screws/nuts/bolts then I could ever use.

another chainsaw,   this one is a husky and much lighter then my old autolite

a propane heater and two 100lb tanks  both full.

my dad took all of the wood but I can help myself to most of it.   Which is best to carve blades out of? I have access to straight and clear oak, yellow cedar, maple, black walnut, alder, fir.   the oak and walnut are way too nice to turn into blades on the big 8'x10"x4" boards but I can probably scrape up smaller pieces of the oak to play with.

Of course I didn't get any of the hand planners I really wanted but I thats fine.  Tommorrow is another day of moving.  Thank god we got done with the scrap steel.  About 1000 lbs moved today.

Hi ya'll

My christmas was as good as it get's.

In early june brother-in-law was diagnosed with

stage 4 esophogus sp? cancer that had spread to the brain. After some VERY agressive treatment he was pronounced cancer FREE last week.

     That was the best one

Then i was given 3 wind uprooted ceder trees.

And little brother let me use his wood-miser mill

to make lumber out of them.

Time to stop studing and start building

later

grandpa is moving in with my aunt about 20 minutes away from his old house.  He's decided that 84 is a little old to be on his own which makes sense.   Realistically he'll be moving in with my mom and dad/his son in a month or two.   The aunt isn't a builder that collects tons of stuff to always have on hand.  My dad and I am.  So my aunt will probably flip and grandpa will probably not give up his projects and be moving in with my father instead soon enough.  We already have built the room for him to stay there  he just decided to go the other way.

Daughters gave me a dozen CFLs and I got a new 2005 Jeep Liberty with 2.8L diesel engine. Went to Leadville through the Eisenhower Tunnel. It never shifted out of high overdrive except going downhill. Fantastic vehicle.Waiting for rest of Christmas when Gr-dau gets back from Tennessee after visit with her father who just got back from a 2 year stint in Iraq.

Congrats!  That's awesome!  Thanks to your son for doing the job he did, and congratulations to him for coming home safe.  Did he bring home any desert sun for some solar projects?  :D
