High winds evpected today

DanB, expected high wind today in your area.63 mph gusting 80-100mph.

Dan, do you do anything to prepare for weather like this?

I sure hope your furling systems are up to this. Would scare the p... outa me.

Best of luck and hope everthing works out, we had a storm in oct at 180km peeking and knocked me out. Rebuilding again.

Actually, because of where Dan is and the type of wind event we're expecting, he might actually be dead calm today.


One of these days when I go up to visit him, I'll have to talk to him about installing an ASOS (automatic weather station) at his site.  My former meteorology professor at Metro specializes in Front Range wind events, and probably could use the data.

Yes, it was incredibly windy yesterday.  I shut down the 17' machine because the tower is scary in high winds.  The 20' machine hasn't been off for almost 3 months now and it did fine.

Dan, what kind of power were you getting on the 20 footer? It had to be really putting out
