You too man. There's a lot to do in the next year... wish everyone the best of luck and hope for all the best.

I look forward to this coming year - I think the wife has bought a 'real' PV panel for me to play with. She finally is realizing that I am getting serious about this stuff. :)

Ho Ho Ho and a Happy Christmas to all of you !

Looks like we're getting a white Christmas here in the PNW for the first time in YEARS...   ~AND~  the wind is blowing up a LOT of power, considering my very small Chinook turbine  It's urban at the moment but great for testing and is definately working.

PS, sorry about Santa.... I couldn't help it.

Just thought I would let you know that its wonderful weather in Hong Kong this Christmas Day. Its just after noon and the temperature is 30 degrees Celcius, low humidity and we have glorious sunshine.

Yes its T shirt, shorts, flip flops, and a roast turkey lunch outside today followed by pots of ale and turkey sandwiches later.

Trust those in the States, Canada and elsewhere enjoy the panorama of nice white clean untouched snow.

Seasons greetings from New Zealand.

2008 saw my first attempt at wind power with a Hugh Piggott 10 footer. The tests I did for the 6 months up to September I deemed a success so my bonus from work was spent on the decent battery bank (450A/hr @ 24v) and the parts for the permanent 12m mast have been collected.

The new mast got up to 45 degrees yesterday when I realised that a small redesign is required with the connection of the main strainer guy-wire to the gin pole - it was too high off the ground to reach it to remove the shackle to allow the mast to go all the way up.

Good practice raising and lowering with the tractor though and temperatures forecast in the low twenties (Celsius) for the next few days means it will be a relaxing way to spend the holiday :-)

Happy New Year to all as well.

Hi,

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all.

It's been a year almost to the day that I discovered this site. Shortly after I decided that I could not go on through life without building my own 10' otherpower wind turbine. It has been up and producing power since November 1st and now I am having fun just fine tuning it.

For 2009 maybe otherpower 17'.....a hybrid.....Hugh's 12'.....motor conversion.....who knows.....decisions....decisions....but for now I am working on a booster circuit a la "Flux"

A very special THANK YOU!! to the Pioneers i.e. Hugh, the Dans and Flux.

Hey hiker.

You might want to alert the folks at the Noth Pole, Santa has had a slight misshap and will be a littel late getting home.

Merry Christmass everyone. And I hope you all build a bunch of neat RE stuff in 09.
