Giving credit were due
« on: September 27, 2009, 05:24:24 PM »
    Just a little note to give some credit were credit is due. In a world were more often than not its hard to get someone to stand behind a product they make or sell, My hat's off to Outback Power.

    A few weeks ago I had a lightning strike that scrambled the brain of my inverter. I called Outback and they sent out a box of control boards for $205.00  and in an hour with some common hand tools Things are back to normal. They have a link to a YouTube on how to rebuild one of their inverters and its straight forward and pretty easy. Just send the old boards back and your done.

    I've included the link to the video. If any of you are looking to buy a first rate piece of RE gear I'd give Outback a good hard look. The up front cost may be a bit more but when trouble comes and it will. They stand behind their stuff.     Please excuse my rant.

Bob;

I have heard this before with one difference from yours. They sent a tech out to replace those.

I agree it is nice to have a company that does not suffer from apathy after the sale.

I have both a Mate and an FX2524 and would buy more Outback gear in a heartbeat.

In fact, hopefully this winter I can shake loose enough cash to get a twin to the FX and a hub for stacking to get 240 AC for the well pump.

Thanks for the share.

Bob--your post was perfect timing.  Doing the "trying to decide what to buy",

and was leaning hard to Outback.  Now there is no question in my mind.

Thanks   bj

BJ, I recommend letting Outback know that their customer support was a key selling feature. That way they will more inclined to continue the policy.

I have also had outstanding support from Outback.

Their support group is easy to contact and patiently talk you through any problem.
