solar conversion of malibu path lights
« on: January 30, 2006, 01:01:26 AM »
I would convert my lighting to led so my draw would be 3.3 watts.  I can find a 10w panel with 5. amp hr battery for under $100.  That looks like it should work.  I'm not really concerned with running out of juice in the middle of the night due to a few cloudy days.  I am concerned about too frequent discharge.

I would welcome all opinions on better ways.  Should I go with a bigger panel and battery and skip a photo cell and just let them on all the time?  Price is my main concern with this application.  In the location it is used I don't see myself needing more power or storage later.

Thanks, all
