Portable Solar Setup - 1 battery - 110v Marine Charger
« on: February 19, 2007, 11:43:05 PM »
Hello All. First post. Good info here.

I am building my first PORTABLE solar setup. A test system for learning/camping/etc.

I can see that with a single battery it can and will get drained. Many times I will have access to 110v outlets. I bought a Minn-Kota on-board 1 bank marine 2 stage 6amp charger for $20 on clearance (MK-106) in hopes to use it. http://www.minnkotamotors.com/products/chargers/detail.asp?pg=mk106

Has anyone used something similar? Is it a good idea. Is there something else better/smaller for charging? I want to build an extremely "clean looking" setup.

Thanks folks.

JD
