I personally think using an actuator and tracker circuit on the same setup is easier, but it would cost more than $35 if you're not good at scrounging.


Pros and Cons:

Actuator Circuit Pros: Programable, collects maximum power.

                 Cons: uses electricity, few more parts to break down.


Freon Tracker Pros: uses no electricity.

              Cons: doesnt work until the panel heats up, which may take awhile since it's facing the opposite direction of the sun every day. Better hope you dont get a leak as well.

I always favoured the old water, bucket, pulley, spring + irrigation timer for a cheap but effective tracker.
