hi guys my frend is getting rid of his solar hotwatersystem and i was wondering if i could use  it for power generation for my bros house

You could have described the system a little better. But I think I can still can give you an answer. A Solar Hot water system is only good for making hot water, or a small amount of air, but NOT power generation.


If he wants to get rid of it, you could post it in the Classified section of this forum. I got rid of a very similar system that way.

Not power generation, but you could use it for energy savings.  Use it to heat his water or home. A penny saved is worth 2 cents earned.

Yes ,  You could use it to preheat your water that is going into your Hot Water Heater. That would be a noticeable difference on the Utility Bill.
