Printed solar --nanosolar
« on: December 14, 2007, 06:28:20 PM »
I searched the board for this and found some info. from 2005 but nothing newer except one post this year.

Nanosolar has built a 100 million dollar plant in California and is set to print 430 megawatts of solar film per year at a cost of 30 cents per watt.  Want some of it? You may have to wait a while. The first year of product is already sold out. What will be the retail price? How long will they hold up? This is yet to be seen. But think. Even if a roll of this stuff is a dollar a watt and ends up only lasting ten years it should be a big jump in the solar competition market. Now if the big AH battery market (a la' A123) could have a break through, and one of you EE's out there market a cost effective sine inverter I could finally build a big system.

Rediscussion seems redundant. Discuss in the previous story Fungus linked to please.
