They are just SLA batteres in a case, nothing special (Unless this is a super-cap version, and at 2000Amps Id think so...)

The price on that on looks very high.

I think I got one from something mart, don't remember where maybe even an auto supply store.

I only paid about 60.00 bucks for it.

I got a couple of uses out of it, then I let it sit for about two or three years and when I tried charging it then to use again it didn't take a charge.

but .............

I was able to salvage some parts from it (not the battery, I'm sure it was heavily sulfated, still have it in the house, tried charging it but haven't tried reverse charging or taken any serious attempts to bring it back to life, it's only 7ah 12v battery) I was able to use the clamps with the connected wire (use them on a 1200 watt inverter, home re is still in temp/development stage), there is the meter, a small 12v light (works well in a panel), I threw the plastic case away but I'm sure I should have kept it for who knows what. mine had a few switches on it that I can use in some other project.

but I wouldn't spend over 50.00 bucks on one of those jumpers, well maybe 80.00 at today's dollar rate.

of course nowadays, I keep a car battery charged in the house and I use a set of jumper cables to be used as the same thing as those jumper boxes. when one of my vehicles battery acts up consistently I keep the battery in the vehicle and just make sure I charge it for a few minutes with the vehicle I jump it with for the next time till I can replace the bad battery or fix whatever else may be wrong.

Second the price thing.

I paid <$40 for mine on sale (PepBoys).

A 19AH battery, 450CCA, with a compressor too.

Vector VEC012C.

Works great, used it to jump a car twice a day for months (long story).

Used the compressor for 30 minutes, then the head was loose and the valve fell into the piston area.  So thats DOA.

I keep it charged with a VW PV.

Mine cost under $40 as well but no compressor, just a 17Ah SLA (400CCA), clamps and ciggy sockets. Jump started my 1.9L diesel twice without a recharge (tho I think the alternator might have put back in what I took).

As I said it might be a super cap starter.
