Any thoughts on this?
« on: October 03, 2007, 08:59:05 AM »
I have always thought that compressed air storage was worth considering for energy storage, but it has never seemed to have gained much of a foothold. This company, General Compression, is putting forward its ideas, complete with fancy buzzwords.

Uh oh- there's an "investor" tab....sure to raise a few eyebrows. Siemens (and probably others) has been working with compressed air storage and generation. It works, but from what I understand, isnt quite ready for prime time. Dont know about this company. Already funded 8.1 mil since 2006-

I did see a quote that was good...

The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects it to change; the realist adjusts the sails.

Not to be a pessimist, but I don't see how high pressure air lines could possibly be more efficient either on cost or energy than using regular wire.
