The best VAWT design MAYBE
« on: July 15, 2008, 05:25:50 PM »
I would like opinions on my design.

I think it has the absolute minimum negative drag and the maximum positive drag efficiency.

I don't anything about generators.

Is there such a thing as a variable draw generator that could be used to control the RPM. One that would produce more power at higher wind speeds yet hold the mill RPM?  I know that keeping the tip speed below the wind speed would be idea for my design.

I'm hoping the RPM of the mill can be constant and slow and it and yet produce increasing amounts of power as wind speed increases. Preferably using a shaft mount generator.

He wants a patent, let HIM do the research. IMHO. TW
