voltage regulator

Anyone know of an efficient voltage regulator circuit for a 10-40 amp dc generator? It puts out 14-40v depending on rpm. I'm trying to find a circuit for battery charging to keep it at 13.8v efficiently

No real info what is the alt.BYE, we have discussed regulators to death recently too.
