compound VAWT from France

Unfortunately they won't sell to individuals. The support poles were engineered to be bolted to a slab, not tethered. The cutout wind speed is 20m/s (44.75 miles/hour).

Maybe later they'll make a smaller version for home use. Even if I had to get a permit for a small pad, it would be worth it, just to get a close up look at the controller design.

The site is in France and has a lot of Adobe Flash, so those on dialup are pre warned.

Their turbine stores in lead acid or LiFePO, and goes atop a solar powered LED street light. They claim to be the only maker of street lighting that meets the EU requirements for renewable energy and minimum lumen standards for street lighting.

They have installed some combo wind/solar powered lights at Colchester Station in England. The controller is self-diagnostic and can communicate wirelessly with each other.
